Lovely SEN school are looking for a SEN TA to work with their secondary aged pupils.
About the Role:
- Full-time position as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a secondary school located in Wimbeldon
- Supporting children who are non-verbal and require assistance with personal care
- Working closely with the teaching staff to create an inclusive learning environment
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to support the development of communication skills
- Assisting with classroom activities and ensuring the safety and well-being of the students
- Providing one-on-one support to students with their educational and personal development
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those who are non-verbal and use wheelchairs
- Knowledge of different strategies and techniques to support communication and mobility
- A patient and compassionate approach, with the ability to build rapport with students
- Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively support multiple students with various needs
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow the instructions of the teaching staff
- Good communication skills to liaise with parents and other professionals involved in the students' care
Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Understanding of SEN and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs
- First Aid training is desirable
