Our school has continuous provision throughout (playful learning setting) not only in Early Years as this is the pedagogy of the school. The school day is organised into three teaching sessions; Book Based Learning (Literacy based), Phonics, Maths and story time session at end of day. The rest of day is 'free flow' play (so all children are free to explore or to attend adult led intervention groups).
The role consists of working with two ASD girls . One is completely non-verbal , the other has more understanding but uses very limited language ; so still a Social Partner on the SCERTS scale.
Both require personal care. However, please note we expect ALL SEN TAs within the school to be open to personal care regardless of whether your pupils require it.
As a school we are focused upon play, language and communication and social skills. We have a wide variety of interventions available to SEN pupils and a full time SaLT employed by the school full time.
The school has a large play ground with sand pit and climbing frame. The KS1 playground has access to woodlands and chickens.
