Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
About the Role:
This Primary SEN school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children within a small class setting. The specific year group is yet to be confirmed. The school provides support to children who have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) related to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Due to the additional needs of the students, it is highly likely that personal care will be involved in this role.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
- A thorough understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and strategies to support children with this condition
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals
- The ability to provide personal care as required
- A patient and nurturing approach to education
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3)
