About the Role:
- We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN-school Teaching Assistant to join our team in Sutton. As an SEN TA, you will be responsible for supporting sixth form students with Autism and Down Syndrome.
- You will be working as a general classroom TA but 2 days a week working with students within the catering room supporting them in cooking with a class teacher.
- You will work closely with the teaching staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment, providing one-on-one support and assisting with classroom activities.
- As an SEN-school Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of these students, helping them to achieve their full potential and develop essential life skills.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an SEN-school setting is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with Autism and Down Syndrome.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the individual needs of students.
- A patient and caring nature, with the ability to provide emotional support when needed.
- Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs or related fields are advantageous.
