Role: Sen-school Part time Teaching Assistant (10.30 - 14.00)
About the Role:
An all through SEND school based in Birmingham is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team on a long-term basis. This part-time role requires working from 10:30 am to 2 pm, 5 days a week. The role will involve both class-based work and supporting students during the lunchtime period. The students within the setting have a diagnosis of ASC and severe (SLD) or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD). The average class size is 9 pupils, with 3 teaching assistants and a teacher across the school.
Requirements:
- Experience working with SEND either within a school setting or as a carer/foster carer
- Passion for working with SEND students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Willingness to participate in training for Makaton, PECs, and other SEND-related areas
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare
- Valid DBS check
- First aid certification (preferred)
