Opus Education powered by Zen Educate is currently seeking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive and dynamic primary school in Truro, Cornwall.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a mainstream school environment. You will be working alongside the SENCo, teachers, and other support staff to deliver high-quality provision for students with SEN.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting the SENCo and teachers in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
• Providing individual and small group support to students with SEN, both inside and outside of the classroom.
• Helping to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner.
• Assisting with the preparation of resources and materials for students with SEN.
• Supporting students with SEN during off-site visits and extracurricular activities.
• Liaising with parents and other professionals involved in the care and support of students with SEN.
Requirements:
• Relevant experience working with students with SEN.
• Knowledge of and experience with a range of SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and Dyslexia.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• A flexible and adaptable approach to work.
• A current DBS certificate or willingness to apply for one.
