*SUMMER PLANNING ONLY* Special Education Aide – Classroom support for elementary school students in mod/severe SPED classroom. About this Role: We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Aide to support high school students in a moderate/severe special education classroom. In this role, you will assist a credentialed teacher in delivering and reinforcing instruction and training tailored to students with emotional disturbances and/or moderate to severe disabilities. You will work closely with individuals and small groups, providing targeted support to meet a range of cognitive, emotional, and physical needs, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. This position involves both academic assistance and the implementation of behavioral strategies to foster a supportive and effective learning environment. This is a behaviorally intensive position. The role involves working with students who may experience emotional dysregulation, learning disabilities, and behaviors such as aggression (e.g., hitting, biting, kicking) or elopement. What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
