Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated SEN EYFS TA to join our specialist team at a renowned SEN school in North Cornwall. This full-time role is integral to our mission of providing personalised support that fosters independence, confidence, and holistic development for children with special educational needs, including those with autism and non-verbal communication.
The successful candidate will support early years and reception pupils, working closely with teaching staff and external professionals to create a nurturing, inclusive environment aligned with the school's ethos of respect, understanding, and individualised learning. Key Responsibilities:
- Support children in early years and reception classes, focusing on those with autism and non-verbal communication needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in learning activities.
- Assist in implementing personalised education plans (PEPs) and behavioural strategies to promote positive behaviour and social development.
- Work closely with class teachers to facilitate curriculum activities, ensuring adaptations are made to meet each child's individual needs.
- Provide 1:1 support where required to enable children to access learning and participate fully in classroom routines.
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes inclusion, respect, and understanding, in line with the school's values.
- Assist with the organisation and preparation of learning resources and classroom environments to ensure they are stimulating, safe, and accessible.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, to support the child's holistic development.
- Promote independence and life skills development in children, encouraging positive behaviours and emotional regulation.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with children in the EYFS, particularly those with SEN
- Understanding of EYFS framework and child development
