UK schools spend over £2bn per year on covering short term absences with supply teachers. The current model is exclusively reliant on agencies that charge a massive commission and are terribly inefficient — everything is paper and phone-call based.

We are consolidating this analogue, fragmented, and inefficient marketplace onto a digital platform. In the process we’ll pull hundreds of millions of waste out of the education system and have a huge positive impact on teachers and schools.

We are well-funded by high-profile investors, have had significant early traction, and are led by start-up veterans behind two of London’s most prominent tech companies.

What will you be doing

  • Own team targets through leading retention, expansion and new business activities
  • Motivate and manage a team of Account Executives to continuously increase bookings at schools
  • Coach team to continuously improve team effectiveness and personal sales skills
  • Lead school leaders through successful recruitment processes using a consultative approach
  • Own the relationship with strategic customers including school leaders and leadership teams of Multi-Academy Trusts
  • Work collaboratively with the resourcing, operations and technology teams to continuously improve efficiency in delivering value to schools
  • Get your hands dirty. Like any true start-up, no two weeks will be the same and a general interest in ‘mucking in’ and just getting the job done is crucial

Our ideal candidate

  • 5+ years experience in sales
  • Experience leading teams
  • Experience, strong knowledge, and/or interest in the UK education sector is a strong plus
  • Interest in technology, marketplaces, and/or social impact

What we are looking for

  • Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Javascript, HTML, and CSS
  • Experience with ReactJS and good understanding of APIs is a plus
  • Experience using memory-data stores such as Redis and background workers such as Sidekiq
  • Strong bias to test-driven development & automation as well as experience with Git or other similar version control systems
  • Knowledge of deploying to and managing cloud environments like Heroku is a plus

What you would be doing

  • Maintain constructive relationships with candidates to ensure candidate satisfaction and retention
  • Use a variety of online tools to interview and vet individual candidates and continuously improve the vetting process
  • Work collaboratively with the sales, operations and the technology team to continuously improve efficiency in delivering value to schools
