Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and interactive science lessons to students ranging from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5.
Create and implement lesson plans that align with the national curriculum and cater to the needs and abilities of individual students.
Foster a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that promotes scientific inquiry and critical thinking.
Utilise a range of teaching resources, including practical experiments, demonstrations, and multimedia tools, to enhance students' understanding and engagement.
Support students in developing their scientific skills, including experimentation, data analysis, and scientific communication.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum development, departmental meetings, and school-wide initiatives.
Uphold high standards of classroom management, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessment results as required.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, specializing in Science Education.
A passion for teaching and inspiring young minds, with a strong subject knowledge in Science (Physics, Chemistry, and/or Biology).
Experience teaching Science across different key stages, preferably within a secondary school environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
Dynamic and creative teaching approach, using innovative methods to engage and motivate students.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to different school environments and follow existing schemes of work.
Flexibility and availability for short-notice supply assignments, often on a day-to-day basis.
Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or the ability to obtain one.
