Role: Primary Teaching Assistant
This "Outstanding" school in Birmingham is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support within a year 1 class setting. The role is supporting all children within the class ensuring that all students can access the curriculum by supporting students as required which will include interventions for all abilities including gifted and talented and SEN students, 1:1 support if required (SEN students have dedicated 1:1 support however they may need assistance from time to time), and general classroom duties.
About the Role:
- Support the teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
- Assist in implementing individual education plans for students with special educational needs (SEN)
- Provide extra support to students who require it, including 1:1 support
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Support students in their social, emotional, and academic development
- Collaborate with the teacher to monitor and assess students' progress
- Assist with administrative tasks as required
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development
- Experience working with children in a school setting
- Knowledge of the primary school curriculum
- Patience and understanding in dealing with students of different abilities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Strong organizational and time management skills
