One of our schools is looking for a Tutor to plan and deliver an outstanding learning experience for students in a one-week revision and exam preparation environment (8th - 12th April 2024). What you'll be doing: Course Preparation: • To make contact with students through appropriate means, confirming areas of interest, syllabus requirements and abilities to build rapport and confirm any preparation/course requirements. • To ensure that all appropriate course materials, lesson plans and equipment are prepared (and working) in advance of lessons. • To ensure subject knowledge and awareness of changes to exam board provisions is up to date. • To complete initial induction activities as required. During the Course: • Effectively teach students of all abilities; planning, preparing and delivering engaging and challenging lessons which enable all students to make good progress towards their personal learning goals. • Recognise each student as an individual, liaising with academic leadership where necessary to support all students to achieve their best. • Utilise appropriate differentiation methods to foster independent learning skills to stretch and challenge students of all abilities. • To set high expectations that inspire, motivate and challenge students. • To ensure full use of teaching time to create a highly stimulating and engaging learning environment. • To assess and monitor all student progress, providing feedback throughout. • To mark students’ work, including homework, carefully and conscientiously and provide students with prompt written and verbal feedback on their learning, employing strategies to promote independent learning. • To use a range of appropriate classroom management strategies to maintain high levels of behaviour and discipline and deal promptly and effectively with misbehaviour in accordance with school policies. • Communicate effectively with the Commercial Projects Manager and the College’s Senior Academic Management Team. Post-Course: • To prepare a personalised report for each student, highlighting the progress and improvement points for each student, and indicating evidence-based predicted grades where possible. • To contribute to the Easter Revision Course improvement through course review processes.
