The role is working 2-1 to support a Y6 child with autism. The child is able to complete structured learning tasks at a KS2 level but needs lots of support with attention, focus, regulation and managing transitions We would need someone with lots of experience working with children with autism who is committed to creating consistent predictable routines using visual support. They will also need to be good at working closely with a partner. Some personal care is needed to prompt/supervise the child to change their clothes at school. The child is occasionally physical, so someone who is able to implement de-escalating strategies would be helpful.
