The school is looking for a TA to work in Doves (our Reception/Y1) ARP class next week. This is to support a child transition back into school following extended leave over the summer. The TA would require experience in both early years and working with pupils with ASD. As you can appreciate our youngest cohort are still very much settling into routines and forming relationships, so a calm manner is essential and ideally experience of using visuals and makaton to aid communication. The TA would not be working as a 1:1 for the returning pupil, but as an additional member of the team.
1:1 SEN TA with a Year 3 student who has challenging behaviour. Student has some emotional dysregulation and needs a Teaching Assistant who is both sympathetic and assertive.
The school is looking for someone who is consistent with attendance and timekeeping. Ideally the right candidate will be someone who is able to build a relationship with this student, be patient and relaxed during their outbursts, and over time establish boundaries and appropriate behaviour within school.
The school has had this student since Reception and is aware of the need and will guide any Teaching Assistant who is accepted for the role.
