Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN school or similar setting

- Good understanding of SEN strategies and interventions

Amazing opportunity to support vulnerable young people with SEMH and Complex Needs. These young people need positive role models to engage and motivate them towards success in and out of school life.
We are looking for someone who either has experience working in an SLD school or who is quick to learn.
You need to be proactive and able to get to know the children so you can see them as children first and foremost and best meet their needs, encouraging them to be as independent as possible in all their learning.
You need to be willing to do personal care and support the children positively in all situations. Depending on the class, you may encounter challenging behaviour or see medical needs such as tube feeding and oxygen being given.
You need to be able to work well in a team and communicate well with adults and children.
Our hours are 8.30- 3.45 with a 15 minute morning break and 30 minute lunch break for support staff.
Experienced TA's are needed to support at a Special Needs College (16-25) in South Tottenham. All students have a primary need of Autism, and about 60-70% have additional learning needs.
60% of students are non-verbal and some students may also require personal care (helping with toileting, teeth brushing, dressing etc.)
30% of the students are being helped into internships or paid employment via vocational courses
