Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team. This position specifically involves supporting a Year 4 student, who requires additional assistance due to special educational needs.
The student has right-side hemiplegia and requires support in the mornings to get to the classroom. The primary responsibilities of this role include carrying items around the school and providing support during a 10-minute morning and afternoon Speech-language program. Additionally, she needs extra help with Maths and Science and may require regular breaks throughout the day due to fatigue.
About the Role:
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of our students. Your primary responsibility will be to provide individualized support to Cerable Pasley in Year 4, ensuring they are able to fully participate in classroom activities and reach their academic potential. You will work closely with the class teacher and our SEN department to implement specific strategies and interventions that meet Cerable's needs. This role will involve working with the whole class as well, assisting the teacher with classroom management and ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
- Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs, particularly related to physical support
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet individual needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
