Please note the role will be split with half the day supporting a REC child and half the day supporting a YR1 student.
About the role:
- Provide support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a quiet and calm manner
- Assist an undiagnosed Year 1 student with challenging behaviour
- Collaborate with the class teacher to create a positive learning environment
- Help in planning and delivering lessons
- Monitor and track the progress of the students
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere within the classroom
Requirements:
- Relevant qualifications in teaching or childcare
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN)
- Strong understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and strategies to support children with ASD
- Ability to effectively manage challenging behavior
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
