Our SEN school near Wallington is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and support the Skills for Life Year 9 class. The students in this class are mostly non-verbal and may exhibit challenging behaviors, so we are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who has worked with behaviors of concern in the past.
About the Role:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support students in their academic, social, and emotional development
- Assist with personal care and hygiene, if required
- Collaborate with other members of staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant
- Experience in managing challenging behaviors
- Knowledge of special educational needs and different learning styles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children with special needs

Our SEN school near Wallington is currently seeking an experienced part-time Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team. This role will involve supporting the Skills for Life 6th Form class from Monday to Thursday. The students in this class are aged 16 and above, with high need Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate individual who is passionate about working with SEN students.
About the role:
- Provide one-on-one support to students with ASD, ensuring their individual needs are met
- Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, under the guidance of the class teacher
- Support students in developing their social skills and independence
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with the class teacher and other TAs to ensure the smooth running of the class
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with ASD is essential
- A good understanding of the SEN code of practice and the ability to implement strategies to support students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the students
Qualifications:
- A valid DBS check registered on the Update Service
- Safeguarding training certificate
