Job title: Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a school based in Bolton. This position is part-time, Monday to Friday, from 11am to 2pm. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the education and development of a pupil with severe autism. The successful candidate will work on a 1:1 basis, providing essential support during lunchtime and during the school day.
About the Role:
- Supporting a pupil with severe autism on a 1:1 basis.
- Assist the pupil with their daily activities, including classroom tasks, social interactions, and personal care.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure the pupil's individual needs are met and their progress is monitored.
- Be responsible for covering lunch duty, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience for all students.
- This is a part-time position, offering a great opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive primary school environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in supporting children with SEN, particularly those with severe autism, is essential.
- Knowledge and understanding of autism and strategies for supporting individuals with autism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to the individual needs of the pupil.
- A proactive and flexible approach to working within a team.
- Relevant qualifications in education or support work, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, would be advantageous.
