About the Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Oldham. This is a full-time position working with a Year 1 student who has autism. As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the student's learning and development, providing 1:1 support and creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting
- Knowledge and understanding of autism and strategies for supporting students with additional needs
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
- A patient and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
- Any additional relevant qualifications in special educational needs (SEN) would be advantageous
