Pupil-referral-unit Teaching Assistant (Full Time) This is a role as TA/SEN Assistant working closely with the SENDCo in a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in Oldham. You will need to have SEND experience, possibly worked as an assistant SENDCo, and be capable of carrying out administrative tasks. As a Pupil-referral-unit Teaching Assistant, you will also be responsible for implementing testing of pupils, providing emotional support, and conducting narrative therapy. About the Role: - Assist the SENDCo in delivering high-quality education to pupils in the PRU - Support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities - Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment - Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans - Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents - Assist with administrative tasks such as maintaining records and preparing materials - Implement testing and assessment procedures for pupils - Provide emotional support and guidance to pupils - Undertake narrative therapy sessions as required Requirements: - Previous experience working with pupils with special educational needs - Knowledge and understanding of SEND provisions and strategies - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work effectively as part of a team - Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping pupils with additional needs - Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of pupils Qualifications: - Minimum of a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent - Relevant training and certifications in supporting pupils with SEND - Additional qualifications in narrative therapy or related therapeutic approaches would be advantageous At Zen Educate, we understand the importance of work-life balance, better pay, and on-hand support for teaching staff in finding their ideal roles.
