Role: Primary Teaching Assistant
This school is looking for a part-time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. You will be working with a girl on a one-to-one basis. The school is located in Trafford and is a primary school.
About the Role:
- Work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of the designated student
- Provide one-to-one support to the student with special educational needs
- Assist with creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Help the student with their academic progress, social skills, and emotional well-being
- Collaborate with other teaching assistants and professionals to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and record the student's progress, behaviors, and achievements
- Support the student in various activities such as reading, writing, numeracy, and physical education
- Ensure the safety and welfare of the student at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable
- Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate
- Good understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support students with SEN
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students
- Ability to adapt and differentiate teaching methods to meet individual needs
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
