Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Learning

- Plan and implement a varied curriculum that incorporates both practical and theoretical components, catering to diverse student needs.

Department & Curriculum Development
- Support the development and review of Schemes of Work and departmental plans, ensuring they reflect current best practice and the school's educational values.

- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice, develop departmental resources, and enhance the quality of music education across the school.
Extra-Curricular & Performances
- Lead and organise school ensembles, choirs, bands, or other musical groups, fostering teamwork and collective achievement.
- Coordinate concerts, performances, and competitions, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents.
- Promote active student participation in musical activities beyond the classroom, encouraging a lifelong love of music.
Student Support & Inclusion

Person Specification:
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching music across Key Stages 3–5, with a track record of motivating and developing students.
- Experience leading musical ensembles or projects is desirable.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong subject knowledge and practical musical skills.
- Ability to plan and deliver creative, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
- Competence in assessment, progress tracking, and providing constructive feedback.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, inclusion, and SEND best practices relevant to music education.
