Summary: We are seeking a dedicated District Paraprofessional to join our team at a High School in Riverside County. This full-time role is integral to supporting students with intensive behavior needs and aligning with our school's commitment to fostering a respectful, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with educators, support staff, and students to facilitate positive behavioral growth and academic success, embodying the school's values of respect, responsibility, and high expectations. What to Expect You’re walking into a classroom of about eight students with severe, intensive behavioral needs. While the students are great, they have a history of being physically aggressive, so you'll need to stay alert. The class is very structured, the kids and the regular staff already have a "predetermined" schedule. You’ll be working as a "base aide" meaning you’re part of a larger support team that includes a lead teacher. 2. How to Be Successful: Being a "good hand" without trying to be a hero. When a student has a behavioral crisis and emotions are running high, do not try to interject with your own ideas. FAQ

Getting started

How do I apply to work with Zen?

If the online sign up isn't working as it should, then you can apply in the Zen Educate app, or email your resume and a short description of what you're looking for to our team at help@zeneducate.com and we'll be in touch.

How do I interview?

To make sure you're getting bookings perfect for you, we will invite you to a 30-minute online interview with our team to learn about your experience, preferences and why you're passionate about working in education. You can do this through any smartphone or computer.

I'm not ready to start a new job immediately, but I'm job searching for the near future. What should I do?

If you're not ready to find another role, or you're just browsing, you're definitely still welcome to sign up. Registering with us and letting us know what you're looking for will help us to get in touch with you about roles you may be interested in!

I only have work experience outside the US. Is that OK?

We'd be happy to speak to you about your experience, and find out if we'd be able to help you find a role.

Roles

What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

General

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

I couldn't find something on your website, how do I find more?

Email help@zeneducate.com and our friendly team will get back to you shortly.

Application process

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!

I don't have all of my documents ready now. Can I still apply?

Yes! You can sign up now and let us know what work you're looking for. You can return at any time to finish your profile and start getting bookings.
