Job description

We are looking for a resilient and compassionate 1:1 Aide to join the team at a supportive middle school community in San Dimas. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing stability and safety for a student with significant behavioral and social-emotional needs. You will be responsible for creating a safe and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. This is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in students' lives every single day by helping them navigate the challenges of the classroom while following a structured support plan. Responsibilities: Provide consistent 1:1 support to a 7th-grade student, ensuring their safety and the safety of those around them. Diligently implement and monitor the student’s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) to manage and reduce instances of verbal and physical aggression. Utilize professional de-escalation techniques to redirect the student when they exhibit challenging behaviors or use inappropriate language. Foster a positive rapport with the student to encourage social-emotional growth and academic engagement. Collaborate closely with teachers and administration to document behavioral data and adjust support strategies as needed. Details: Schedule: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Starting January 5th) Compensation: $22/hr to $23/hr

What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
