Summary: We are seeking a dedicated District Paraprofessional to join our Adult Transition Program in Daly City, a vital part of our district's commitment to fostering independent living and success for young adults aged 18-22. This full-time role aligns with our ethos of providing compassionate, student-centered support that promotes dignity, respect, and personal growth. Working hours are from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid break, and the position is available immediately. The paraprofessional will work closely within a supportive environment that includes BCBA support and transition specialists, ensuring each student receives tailored assistance to meet their individual needs. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-on-one support to students with extensive needs, including personal care, feeding, and toileting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. - Assist students with daily living activities, promoting independence in alignment with the program's goal of preparing students for life beyond school. - Support students during classroom activities and transitions, adhering to individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies. - Collaborate with teachers, transition specialists, and BCBA staff to implement educational and behavioral interventions. - Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and any incidents, following district protocols and confidentiality standards. - Foster a respectful and inclusive environment that reflects the school's values of dignity, autonomy, and respect for all individuals. - Support the integration of students into community-based activities and other off-site programs as required. - Adhere to all district policies, health and safety guidelines, and ethical standards in delivering support.

What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
