Job Description: Bus Monitor – Student Support (Seizure Care) The Bus Monitor will provide direct supervision and safety support for a student with known seizure activity who is transported daily to and from South Mountain High School. This position works two daily shifts. The morning shift runs from 5:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and the afternoon shift runs from 1:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Bus Monitor is responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment on the bus at all times. Duties include monitoring the student throughout the route, recognizing and responding to signs of seizure activity, following established emergency protocols, and documenting any incidents that occur during transport. The monitor must also assist with boarding and exiting, ensure that the student is properly secured according to transportation and safety guidelines, and maintain awareness of all surroundings to prevent hazards. Professionalism, confidentiality, and consistent adherence to medical and transportation procedures are essential. While on duty, the Bus Monitor is expected to remain attentive, reliable, and prepared to take appropriate action should a seizure or other medical concern arise. The role requires strong interpersonal communication skills, compassion, and the ability to collaborate with the transportation team and school personnel to ensure safe and dependable transport for the student each day. You will be trained by the campus staff at South Mountain on medical needs necessary for supervision and support before first day.

Roles

What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
