Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate District Paraprofessional to join our school district team in Lake County. This role is integral to supporting our commitment to providing an inclusive, nurturing, and student-centered learning environment that aligns with our school's core values of respect, collaboration, and continuous growth. The successful candidate will work full-time, supporting students with diverse learning needs within the classroom and providing individualized assistance where required. The position runs from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and the start date will be confirmed upon hiring. Key Responsibilities: - Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special needs, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and school activities in a manner consistent with the school's inclusive philosophy. - Assist classroom teachers with implementing lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive learning environment that promotes respect and cooperation. - Support students in developing social skills, independence, and positive behavior, aligning with the school’s emphasis on social-emotional learning. - Supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess to ensure safety and promote respectful interactions. - Support students in personal care and behavioral management as directed by the classroom teacher or special education team. - Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure accommodations are met. - Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that reflects the school's values of respect, responsibility, and community. - Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities to enhance support strategies and stay aligned with district policies and educational best practices. What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
