Are you a flexible, compassionate educator who thrives in dynamic environments? We are seeking a Floating SPED Paraprofessional to provide critical support across our campus locations. In this role, no two days are the same. You will act as a versatile "bridge," stepping into various Special Education classrooms (ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade) to ensure our students receive uninterrupted support. This position is ideal for someone who is adaptable, patient, and deeply committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. Key Responsibilities 1. Student Instructional Support Provide 1-on-1 or small group reinforcement of lesson plans under the direction of the lead Special Education teacher. Modify and adapt classroom activities to meet the specific requirements of students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). 2. Personal Care & Physical Support Assist students with personal hygiene and activities of daily living, which may include diapering, toileting, feeding, and dressing. Support students with mobility needs, including safe transfers (e.g., from wheelchair to standing) and positioning. 3. Behavioral Intervention Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with consistency and empathy. Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors, ensuring the safety of the student and the classroom community. Monitor and collect data on student behavior and progress as requested by the teaching staff. 4. Adaptability & Teamwork Travel between district schools as assigned (often with short notice) to cover absences or high-need situations. Quickly build rapport with different teaching teams and students across various grade levels. Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student records and personal information.

Roles

What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
