Job description

Paraprofessional will provide overall support for students with IEP’s. Areas of support may include instructional, self-care, physical, behavioral, and/or toileting.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  High school graduate or equivalent. Demonstrate ability to work with parents, students and support personnel. Good communication skills. Good attendance record. Good organization skills. Ability to be self-directed. Ability to engage in problem identification and problem solving on behalf of the student(s). Ability to establish a positive rapport with staff/parents/students. Previous experience working with children with disabilities preferred.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Works in collaboration with general and special education staff to support students with IEPs in the least restrictive environment. Functions under the guidance of special education teacher, and supports students’ accommodations and modifications per their IEPs in a 1:1, small group, or whole class setting. Supports students with specific plans developed by the special education professional team. Assists the special education classroom teacher and support personnel in the implementation of health care, behavior, and instructional programming. Manages both behavioral and instructional logs.  Maintains and implements data collection systems. Completes Medicaid billing as applicable. Utilizes technology and/or assisting devices to support students with disabilities. Supervise students in the lunchroom, halls, and outside as assigned by supervisor. Supervisory aide hours/responsibility is part of this position. Ability to do physical activity such as bending, lifting, and moving quickly preferred. Provides clinic/first aid/medication support to students. Assists and performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

Roles

What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
