Monitor, evaluate and record classroom behaviors, problem solve and discuss expectations of appropriate behavior with students; initiate appropriate redirections for student misbehavior (break, problem-solving or modified learning area). Problem solves with dysregulated students and gives positive feedback. Trained in (district provided) and able to implement physical restraints if the situation merits for student safety according to students' individual student plans and District policy. Meet with teacher to determine appropriate levels of student performance, needed modifications of instructional objectives and assignments. Provides input regarding student needs. Assists in implementing daily instructional plans. May occasionally supervise students in a modified learning area, assist students with assignments, monitor, evaluate and record student behavior, present recommendations to teachers, support staff and administrators. May provide students with assistance in dealing with issues such as personal hygiene, medical needs, toileting, diapering, lifting, writing, feeding, boarding and/or getting off busses. Supervise student during lunch, in hallways and on field trips to insure orderly conduct. Administer, correct and grade worksheets and tests, record grades, assign work, assume responsibility of small instructional groups or classroom when teacher is temporarily called out of room. Preparation of classroom materials, filing, filling out review evaluation sheets on students Attends staff meetings to discuss the academic, behavioral and vocational progress of students with appropriate staff including teachers, psychologists, social workers, and parents and employers in job setting situations. Required Qualifications An AA, AS, AAS (or higher) degree, or Two years of post-secondary coursework (60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits) from an accredited institution of higher education which are applicable toward a bachelor's degree, or Passing score of 460 (or higher) on the ParaPro Assessment or a passing score on Paraeducator Online.

How do I interview?

To make sure you're getting bookings perfect for you, we will invite you to a 30-minute online interview with our team to learn about your experience, preferences and why you're passionate about working in education. You can do this through any smartphone or computer.

I'm not ready to start a new job immediately, but I'm job searching for the near future. What should I do?

Roles

What roles do you cover?

We help Teachers, Teachers Assistants, Teachers Aides, and Paraprofessionals find work. We work with all types of schools and help with short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. Many of our long-term roles convert to permanent roles. We make it far easier than a traditional agency for teachers to convert temporary positions into permanent ones.

Do you have early childhood or K-12 roles?

Yes. We can help with daily subbing and long-term jobs in nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools. We don't typically have jobs in higher education or college.

What areas do you cover?

We work with over 500 schools in Minneapolis St Paul - Minnesota, Denver - Colorado, Los Angeles - California and Phoenix - Arizona, San Diego California, The Bay Area California

Do you have school administrator roles?

If you're looking for teaching or teaching assistant roles, and would also be interested in admin roles, it's worth letting us know. If you're only looking for admin roles, we might not be the place for you as this isn't what we specialize in.

Do you provide any training for teachers?

Yes, we have educators on staff who offer expertise and training to Zen Educate teachers. Regions vary in the training sessions that are required / offered.

How is Zen Educate different from a recruitment agency?

Zen Educate is a technology platform to connect teachers with schools directly. Agencies are an expensive middleman between schools and teachers. They have to charge high commissions because their booking procedures are largely manual and run on outdated systems. Because we run more of the process online or on your phone, we create an experience that matches schools and teachers at a fraction of the cost.

What documents do I need to provide in the vetting process?

We'll need a photo for professional use, resume, and a document reflecting your highest level of education. In addition, we'll need a right to work and background check. Your region or school may require other training or documentation - our recruitment team will guide you through each step!
