Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and innovative Teacher of English to join our high-performing and collaborative department. Key Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Learning

- Plan and sequence lessons that align with our ambitious curriculum, ensuring clear progression and secure knowledge retrieval.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including supporting pupils with SEND and challenging high-attaining students.
- Maintain a calm, purposeful, and respectful classroom environment in line with the school's positive behavior routines.
2. Assessment & Progress
- Use formative and summative assessments effectively to track student progress, diagnose learning gaps, and provide targeted feedback.
- Utilize school data to implement proactive interventions, maximizing student achievement and personal growth.
- Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations at GCSE (and A-Level where applicable).
3. Professional Standards & Ethos
- Actively contribute to the wider life of the school, including acting as a Form Tutor and supporting the pastoral care system.

Qualifications
- Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Essential: A degree in English or a closely related subject.
- Desirable: Evidence of continuous professional development.
Experience
- Essential: Successful teaching experience or teaching placements within Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Desirable: Experience teaching A-Level English Language or Literature.
- Desirable: A proven track record of raising attainment at GCSE.

- Essential: Strong subject knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE exam specifications.
- Essential: Effective strategies for embedding literacy and vocabulary across different ability groups.
