Job Title: Full-time Early Years Practitioner
Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Years Practitioner to join our dynamic team. As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children during their crucial early years of development. Your primary responsibility will be to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of children aged 0-5 years. You will work collaboratively with parents, caregivers, and other staff members to ensure the well-being and development of each child under your care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and implement age-appropriate activities, including games, arts and crafts, storytelling, and outdoor play, to foster children's development across various domains.
* Create a safe and secure environment, ensuring child protection and health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.
* Observe and assess individual children's development and progress, identifying their strengths and areas for improvement.
* Plan and maintain accurate records of children's learning journeys, documenting milestones, achievements, and any concerns.
* Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
* Support children in developing self-help skills, such as toilet training, feeding, and dressing.
* Provide emotional support and guidance to children, promoting positive behaviour management techniques.
* Collaborate with other practitioners to plan and deliver a well-rounded curriculum that meets the developmental needs of all children.
* Conduct regular parent meetings, sharing progress reports and discussing children's development and any concerns.
* Continuously engage in professional development activities to stay updated with current research, best practices, and relevant legislation in early childhood education.
Qualifications and Skills:
* A recognised qualification in early childhood education or a relevant field (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, Early Years Teacher Status, or equivalent)
* A solid understanding of child development theories and best practices in early years education.
* Experience working with children aged 0-5 years in a nursery, preschool, or early years setting.
* Strong observational and assessment skills to track children's progress effectively.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
* A nurturing and patient approach, with the ability to provide a supportive and stimulating learning environment.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and child protection procedures.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and independently, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
* A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for early childhood education.
