Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate History Teacher to join our vibrant secondary school community in Salford. Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons that align with the national curriculum and encourage students to think critically about historical events, interpretations, and sources.
Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that support students of all abilities, ensuring inclusive access to learning and appropriate challenge for every learner.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress through formative and summative assessment strategies, providing clear and constructive feedback to support academic development.
Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and a passion for history.
Support students in developing key historical skills, including source analysis, extended writing, debate, and independent enquiry.
Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop schemes of work, shared resources, and cross-curricular learning opportunities.
Contribute to enrichment activities such as history clubs, educational visits, themed events, and revision sessions that enhance students’ learning experiences.
Participate fully in school life, including staff meetings, parents’ evenings, safeguarding responsibilities, and ongoing professional development.
Provide targeted support and intervention for students who require additional academic or pastoral support within the classroom setting.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching History within a secondary school setting.
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring young people through history.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A commitment to inclusive education and raising achievement for all learners.
