The Department for Education’s first Teacher Recruitment and Retention Strategy was published in January 2019, and sets out a 4-point plan to overcome the key obstacles faced by teachers in Britain.

The strategy was created in collaboration with many teachers, as well as unions, experts in the field of education and training providers. It aims to ensure that teaching remains an attractive, rewarding, and sustainable career option.
