FAQ

Across the board, experience and qualifications are preferred. Here are some examples of this:

  • Manual handling or Team Teach training
  • MAKATON training
  • Level 2 qualification in childcare or equivalent
  • Training or experience in non-verbal communication
  • Experience of working with severe learning disabilities (PMLD or autism)

If you don’t have experience, there are still amazing opportunities for you to find work within SEN. Our SEN schools pride themselves on valuing creative, flexible, passionate and empathetic staff, who are dedicated in nurturing the best outcomes for the pupils so if you possess some of these key attributes and have a willingness to learn, we would love to hear from you! If you also have a background in Education, Care, Psychology or Drama then please do get in touch as these are very transferable.

TAs: Your minimum pay will never be less than £82.50 a day when working at our SEN schools but your pay can vary depending on your experience and the needs of the role. This can sometimes go up to £100 if you are the right fit for that school!

Teachers: Your minimum pay as a SEN teacher will never be less than £150 a day. However, we have receptive rates from our schools, which are always negotiable. Our schools are generous and really value the quality of each candidate so this is something to bear in mind when applying for a role at one of our SEN schools!

Definitely! If you want the best rates, full time jobs are the best for you as our schools reward loyalty, however there are flexible options within our SEN schools also.

Some of our schools have long term and short term demand for staff, so whether you’re looking for something flexible on a weekly/ daily basis, or something more certain over a fixed period, our schools can accommodate.

Meet the SEN team. Our SEN experts are here to help harness and develop your career within special educational needs
