Tutoring through the National Tutoring Programme

We’re proud to be an Approved Tuition Partner of the National Tutoring Programme (NTP) matching tutors with schools across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Cardiff, Cornwall and Devon

What is the National Tutoring Programme?

The NTP is a Department for Education initiative that provides support to schools to help pupils whose education has been most affected by school closures.

This year, funding is going directly to schools, giving them greater flexibility over how they structure their tuition programmes, with funding expected to cover 60% of tuition costs. Groups can be anywhere between 1:1 and 1:6, but DfE guidance recommends tuition in groups of 1:3.

What we offer

Qualified teachers for face-to-face tutoring

Long-term and ongoing support for tutors

Lower costs than traditional agencies

Online platform to match tutors to pupil needs

Ability to track attendance and pupil attainment

Tutor programmes facilitated by experts in education

Quality tutoring

We provide qualified teachers and experienced TAs trained in tutoring with experience across primary, secondary, SEN and alternative provisions. All staff complete our strict vetting requirements, including our CPD-accredited safeguarding course, and are interviewed to ensure they meet our high standards before being invited to complete our in-house small group tutor training.

Unbeatable value

Our transparent pricing for in-person tuition is the lowest of all tuition partners – £14 per hour per pupil for 1:3 tuition – falling well within the subsidy limit of £18/pupil/hour. This means that schools can save an average of £17 an hour: almost enough to support another student!

Ahead of the pack on Safeguarding

Keeping children safe is our highest priority. As such, our approach is designed to exceed the DfE guidance as set out in 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'.

FAQ

Tutors will:

  • Support pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds by delivering tailored tuition to groups of up to 6 pupils at a time
  • Liaise with class teachers and the school to understand each individual pupil’s needs
  • Earn competitive rates
  • Receive ongoing support from their dedicated account manager
  • Have the opportunity to try different school environments

In order to support the pupils affected by school closures, all tutors are required to have knowledge of the UK curriculum. Overseas Trained Teachers can become tutors provided they demonstrate ability to teach the UK curriculum.

Tuition will predominantly take place during the school day. Some schools may have tuition sessions up to 4:30pm depending on their specific school requirements.
