What inspired your move to London?
Really felt like I wanted to see more of the world. I've been over in London for just over a year now and have explored tons of the UK and Europe, surfed in a bunch of cool places, explored others and sunk a fair few pints with some good people.
What’s one of your favourite teaching moments in London?
Doing daily supply, I've loved the varied nature of the work. Seeing a bunch of different settings and how different education systems work. But honestly, I'm at my happiest covering any PE classes; the difference in class setting makes me better connect with students.
What are some of your top London recommendations?
Hard to go wrong cause there are sooo many good options, but I've been loving East London.
Tayyabs in Whitechapel for a curry
The Scolt Head for the cutest beer garden
Dusty Knuckle for anything bakery-wise
There's a myriad of good coffee spots, but I rate Saint Espresso out in Hackney Wick.
Where is your favourite summer destination?
Portugal. Spend a couple of days near Lisbon, have a couple of Pastel de Nata, get a surf in, lie on the beach, then fly over to Madeira for some hiking. Doesn't feel too touristy either.

Where was your most memorable winter holiday?
Had a great Scottish holiday in a remote cottage, just doing some chilled-out sightseeing and ancestral history. Looking forward to skiing in the Alps next Winter, though.
What advice do you have for teachers about to make the move to the UK?
Don't live in Clapham, there's tons more to see in London, and you'll always have friends there anyway.
Run clubs are the easiest and cheapest way to make some local friends.
Book in a beach holiday during winter and take some vitamin D pills. Your brain will need it.
Most importantly – sign up to Zen. They pay you well and will always be straight up with you.
